AERCON SPONSORS GREEN DEMONSTRATION HOUSE IN INDIANA

Indianapolis, February 13, 2008: AERCON, manufacturer of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC), is the presenting sponsor of "The Right House", a green building project in Carmel, Indiana, built by Lone Star Homes. According to AERCON general manager Mike Quaka, "We chose to support this project because there is need for increased understanding of how and why to build green. Public concern over health problems, home safety, energy costs and the depletion of earth’s resources means that the time is now for the home building industry to think green. This furnished model home will have an information resource center and will be open to the public for 12 months after its grand opening in March, 2008."

John Brooks, owner of Lone Star Homes, has been building innovative homes in Indiana for 20 years. He and his partner, Jane Brooks, believe the time is right for building green in Indiana, so they developed "The Right House". "With so many people experiencing health problems such as asthma and allergies, this is the right time to build a healthy house. Health is followed by safety, energy and

sustainability concerns. We wanted to design a home that works, literally and economically, in Indiana to address these concerns. The technology is applicable

to smaller homes as well as remodeling, so the information would be of use to anyone planning a new or remodeled home."

John Brooks says "The global implications of sustainable living are profound. Continuing to consume vast amounts of energy in a world where competition for increasingly scarce reserves of fossil fuel looms as a major cause of international conflict looks more and more like a very bad idea. Fortunately, there are communities that have taken leadership roles in promoting and implementing sustainable building. Cities like Austin, San Francisco, Boulder and Chicago are among the top ten; even Taiwan is on board! It's just a matter of time until the term "green building" will be redundant; all houses will be green. We're doing our part now!" Brooks, a member of the National Association of Home Builders and the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis, is currently active in helping create the first Green Building Council in Indiana.

AERCON is not only the name of the company but the name of a product that is
changing the future of residential development in the United States. AERCON, headquartered in Indianapolis at 8425 Woodfield Crossing Blvd with manufacturing located in Haines City, Florida, manufactured blocks and lintels used in the construction of "The Right House". John Brooks chose AERCON because not only is it a green product but it boasts other advantages such as the highest UL fire ratings in the industry, is non-combustible, emits no toxins or gases when exposed to fire, reduces Life-Cycle energy costs up to 60%, reduces construction time, requires no insulation, is mold resistant, sound deadening and creates no indoor pollution.
